Track Your Potential Visitors

Posted by in tracking prospectsnetworking tipsinviting visitors

Let's face it, people are lazy creatures. They procrastinate, they make excuses and they love sleeping in. That makes it really tough to get people who've agreed to come to our meetings to show up!

We ask once, twice and thrice and then we worry if we're becoming stalkers. I'm never ready to give up just yet. I sit quietly and wait for a few weeks to pass and then I invite them again. Who knows, that might be the week that they feel a little more motivated and drag themselves out of bed, then attend our meeting and fall completely in love with Rendezvous!

Here's the headache - how do you keep track of who said 'maybe next week' or 'when I have more time'?

Here is something that I found that will help:

You will be able to remember the person and their contact details and what their response was when you invited them. CWH is Cold, Warm and Hot. Download this, fill it in, and look back upon it from time to time and invite these contacts again.

Here are the probabilities based on Pareto's Law otherwise know as the 80/20 rule. If you were to invite 24 professionals:

  • 19 will not be interested
  • 5 will express interest and attend a meeting; out of which 4 may or may not join. OR join and not be a productive member
  • 1 person will join Rendezvous and become a highly productive member!

Ladies and gentlemen, it sure does sound daunting, but when you get that 1 person, you will feel GREAT about it and so will your fellow members.

Keep pressing that big red button that says INVITE and it will pay off. We've already got a living example in our chapter. I wonder who it is ;)

We meet every Friday from 7.30am to 9.30am, at Cherie's Pan, 21 Tan Quee Lan Street #01-03/03A Heritage Place.
