How to Make the Most Out of Visitors' Day

Posted by Dasha Alexyova in Visitors day tipsBNI

"How you do anything, is how you do everything." says Harv Eker

How you conduct yourself in BNI, how you prepare, how you participate during meetings, how you treat visitors..that's pretty much how you behave out there in your every day business and personal life.

So if you have decided to make the most out of every second of your life, here are the tips that we created as a chapter effort to make our Visitors' Days and any BNI meeting days memorable and results generating.

1. Energy - go and sleep early to have lots of energy during the meeting

2. Dress code - take out your best dress from the wardrobe, ladies put on make up and gentlemen wear shirts and ties to look professional

3. Time of arrival to the meeting - arrive early, before your visitors (at 7am)

4. The night before - give a call to all your visitors to double check and make sure they are all coming, sms them the address of the meeting place. Report to the visitor host on how many visitors are coming and their names so that he/she can get nametags ready. Make the VH's job easier as a show of appreciation.

5. Greeting visitors - greet visitors by welcoming them and shaking their hands and smiling, introduce yourself, ask questions, do not just give your business card and walk away

6. Interacting with visitors during the meeting - be gracious, get to know as many visitors as possible

7. Facial expressions during the meeting - smile, don't look like a dead fish! Look interested and maintain eye contact!

8. Values to demonstrate throughout the whole meeting - focus on visitor, be punctual, help visitor host

9. Sales minute - prepare properly, add in meeting stimulant and rehearse your sales minute at home at least twice

10. Participation during the meeting - actively participate, give answers, clap, show respect and interest

11. Last minute resistance - if your visitors have a last minute cancellation , put across that they will miss something of possible great value and give them one specific example of what they will miss. If they don't turn up this time, at least entice them to come for the next meeting.

12. Time of departure - stay the whole meeting, do not run away in the middle, do not leave before your last visitor leaves. If you have to go, make sure you ask a member to take care of your visitor for you

13. Referrals - prepare min. 2 qualified referrals for fellow members or visitors

14. Testimonials - prepare one powerful testimonial (either for member, visitor or BNI) keep it short, sweet & simple
