When we do dance cards (meet ups) with fellow BNI members and other business associates, it is vital for us to clearly define why we do what we do ie. “What Is Your Business About?”
Communicating your personal business vision to others is very important. What makes you unique? If you are a Insurance Advisor, the products that you sell are almost the same as another Insurance Advisor, what is it about you that makes you stand out? If the other party is unable to articulate who you are to someone else, it is very likely that he will be unable to send you a quality lead. The reverse is also true. So if you want to get the high value business leads that you are yearning for, you have to be CRYSTAL CLEAR.
DEFINING WHAT YOUR BUSINESS IS ABOUT
Here are some leading questions to help you when you meet up with another business associate:
- What is your business about? Eg. For Beauty Reformings (Daisy) it may be providing business owners a place of rest and peace.
- What is your job about? Eg. I do massages, ear candeling and facials.
- What don’t you do?
- What does engaging your services/business do for me?
- What makes you so different from some other similar business?
- What is your credibility?
- What is your value system?
- What do customers say about you that makes your service/business so unique? (Client survey needed)
By asking these open ended questions, it will lead you to understand the normally “un-spoken” things about a person. What is “un-spoken” is often the very reason why you do business with any body in the first place.
