Yes, those are the words that pop out of my mouth everytime I meet somone who has misplaced their sense of, what's the word? 'Extra Effort'.

Being a very active networker, I wonder to myself, 'How many rookie mistakes I do when I go for business networking events'. I guess I am just human and sometimes I just want to enjoy and have fun. And that is the problem number one. I went for a networking event recently and I have experienced myself and others doing so many mistakes. Unfortunately, I only realized it later when doing an evaluation on myself and the event. Here are some examples of what I think were networking mistakes that night:

I just want to share something that really inspired me when reading recent book about growing and building business. The book mentioned that the best "PR" for the business is P-assion and R-esponsibility. So simple, yet so powerful and true :o). What do you think? To me, this was and is the ultimate key to growing a small business into a very successful one.

Communication isn't just limited to opening your mouth and talking. Your body and your actions speak louder than words. In a business setting, there are prospects and contacts who will assess you based on your outward appearance, and what your body language says. Body language is really intriguing. The tiniest action can say a lot to others. That's why it is so important to be conscious of what your body is saying to people around you, especially if you are talking to a prospect, or a visitor at our BNI meetings.
One of the things we always tend to slack off on is the position or posture in which we work. You'll be amazed on how much your posture could affect your productivity at work. Why not give the following tips a shot? |
